What is the Immune System?

The immune system is the body’s defense system. It is designed to protect against threats from outside the body. When functioning normally, the immune system is able to identify, target, and destroy disease-causing pathogens without damaging native body tissues. The immune system is always increasing its ability to respond to environmental threats. Our organs include the tonsils, adenoids, lymph nodes, thymus, spleen, and bone marrow. These all support or produce the essential cell of the immune system, the White Blood Cell. These cells roam the body making protection against pathogens possible. This making the Immune System one of the most critical systems of the body!

How can we promote the health of our Immune System?

  • Exercise
  • Stress Management
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Supplementation

Key Point: to best promote immune health, it is necessary to focus on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

Exercise:

At least 3-5x a week for 30 minutes or more -or- Short bursts of high intensity activity 3x a week.

According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, exercise not only helps your immune system fight off simple bacterial and viral infections; it also decreases your chances of developing heart disease,
osteoporosis, and cancer. With muscle fatigue or discomfort think Deep Blue rub or Deep Blue complex at 1 capsule 2x a day

Don’t give up!

Stress Management:

Stress causes increased levels of cortisol on our bodies. Cortisol = stress hormone(helps the body deal with stress) Cortisol also depresses the function of the immune system -high levels too long leaves the body vulnerable. Use Adaptive, Balance, Arborvitae, Geranium, Past Tense, Patchouli, Sandalwood or Vetiver to ground emotions and relieve stress. Think ahead.

Sleep:

Inadequate sleep increases cortisol levels just like stress.

Nutrition:

According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman, utilizing a combination of foods and supplements that are rich in powerful, immunity-strengthening phytochemical and other micronutrients, it is possible to prevent most common modern diseases.

5 Rules for Powerful Immune Function:

  1. Eat a large salad every day
  2. Eat at least a half-cup serving of beans/legumes in soup, salad, or another dish once-daily.
  3. Eat at least three fresh fruits a day, especially berries, pomegranates seeds, cherries, plums, and oranges.
  4. Eat at least one ounce of raw nuts and seeds a day.
  5. Eat at least one large (double size) serving of green vegetables daily, either raw, steamed, or in soups or stews.

Avoid These 5 Deadliest Foods:

  1. Barbecued meat, processed meat, and commercial red meat
  2. Fried foods
  3. Full-fat dairy (cheese, ice cream, butter, whole milk) and transfats(margarine)
  4. Soft drinks, sugar, and artificial sweeteners
  5. White-flour products

“What might seem radical at the moment will soon become delicious and life-changing!”

All vitamins are not created equal! Generally vitamins are made from synthetic ingredients. While Doterra’s are packed full of organic vitamins and minerals! Use Life Long Vitality daily to support your immune system.

What can we do when we start to feel sick?

Support our gut! Gut microflora is a term that refers to the trillions of micro organisms that live within our digestive tract. A thriving gut ensures better absorption of nutrients needed for the health of our immune system.

This unique double layered capsule with a prebiotic fiber outer capsule and a time released inner capsule providing active probiotic cultures right where needed in the lower intestines.
1 capsule 3x a day for 10 days. When compromised increase to as many as 6 capsules a day.

TerraZyme: enzymes are specialized proteins that function as catalysts in almost all cellular functions and chemical reactions throughout the body. Enzymes play a critical role in growth, healing, and reproduction. They help deliver the nutrients into the cell.
1-3 capsules with meals daily

Zendocrine: is a proprietary blend of whole-food extracts formulated to support
the healthy cleansing and filtering functions of the liver, kidneys, colon, lungs, and skin. Each whole-food botanical extract was selected specifically to support organ capacity to both provide protective cleansing and filtering functions for the body and to support the organ’s own capacity to rid itself of stored toxic waste products.

1 capsule with morning and evening meals.

Essential oils boost the immune system. They are complex with multiple compounds in every oil providing versatile support. This complexity of every oil means developing resistance is extremely unlikely. Giving the user an offensive approach to their health and wellness, rather than defensive.

What oils support the immune system?

Cassia, cinnamon, lime, marjoram, melaleuca, oregano, roman chamomile, tangerine, thyme, & wild orange. A few drops in water, juice or a veggie capsule.

Why internal over topical?

Internal use of essential oils is perfectly safe and worry-free when used properly. Generally considered the most potent method of application. Can be much more effective in acute situations. Smaller quantities are recommended. A little goes a long way applies here! Remember 1 drop of CPTG essential oil contains 40 million-trillion molecules! When our bodies only have 100 trillion cells. This means one drop can cover every one of our cells with approximately 40,000 molecules! This still blows my mind! If uncomfortable with internal method apply topically and diffuse.

Some essential oils are not recommended for internal use, such as Arborvitae, Birch, Cedarwood, Cypress, Eucalyptus, White Fir, and Wintergreen. They are best used aromatically or topically.
